The ARES International Training Scholarships aim to build the capacity of young professionals by offering specialized bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, or continuing education diplomas at institutions in Belgium.

đ° Benefits of the Scholarship
The scholarship includes:
- International travel expenses
- Subsistence allowance
- Exceptional costs associated with visa applications (for bachelor's and specialized master's degrees)
- Tuition fees (for bachelor's and specialized master's degrees)
- Indirect mission expenses (for continuing education only)
- Insurance costs
â Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, candidates must:
- Be a permanent resident and work in one of the 31 eligible countries (see list below). Exception: Palestinian nationals are eligible even if they do not reside in one of these countries.
- Hold the following qualifications:
- For specialized master's and continuing education courses: A degree comparable to a 2nd cycle diploma (300 ECTS credits) from a Belgian university.
- For specialized bachelor's degrees: A diploma comparable to a 1st cycle diploma (180 ECTS credits) from Belgian higher education.
- Demonstrate at least two years of relevant professional experience in an ARES partner country.

Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru.
Southeast Asia
Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam.
Asia
Palestinian territory.
âł Duration of the Programs
- Bachelor's and Specialized Master's Degrees: Up to 12 months.
- Continuing Training: Between 2 to 6 months.
đ Application Process
Applications must be submitted online via the GIRAF platform.
Steps to Apply:
- Create a GIRAF account (or use an existing validated account).
- Access the application form by navigating to:
- Application for international training 2026-2027 > My tasks > Competitive calls.
- Fill in the application form (it can be saved and completed in multiple sessions).
- Submit your application by clicking on Submit my application. Once submitted, the application cannot be modified but can be viewed under My submitted files.
