The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship (CGRS M) is part of the Canada Research Training Awards Suite (CRTAS), administered by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

✅ Canada Graduate Research Scholarship Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or Protected Persons under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• Be enrolled in or applying for full-time admission to a research-oriented master’s program in Canada.
• Have completed 0–12 months of graduate-level studies in the target program.
• Hold a first-class academic average in the last two years of full-time study.
• Ensure the program involves significant research (e.g., thesis, dissertation, or scholarly publication).
• Not have previously held a Master’s-level scholarship from CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC.
