The RFI – AUF Young Writers’ Prize is organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Radio France Internationale (RFI), and Short Édition. The prize aims to promote writing and reading in French.

🎁 Benefits of The RFI – AUF Young Writers’ Prize

Two prizes will be awarded:

1. The Audience Award:

   • Prize worth €250.
   • Awarded to the story that receives the most votes from internet users from a selection of the best entries.

2. The Jury Prize:

   • One or more training courses offered by the IFIC, with a total value of €2,000.
   • Awarded to the work chosen by a jury of professionals with a strong connection to the Francophonie.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To participate, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be French speakers aged 18 to 29.
• Be enrolled in one of the AUF member institutions or at the École de Management de la Francophonie (ESFAM).
• Submit a fictional story with a maximum of 8,000 characters (including spaces).
• The story must begin with the following opening line:
  “I cannot tell where I come from. I have forgotten everything,”
  (an excerpt from the play Passeport by Alexis Michalik, published by Albin Michel).

📝 Selection Criteria

• Voting Period: From September 1, 2025, to September 14, 2025, internet users will be invited to read and vote for their favorite text.
• Winner Announcement: The winners will be revealed on September 15, 2025.

📅 Application Date and Process

• Submit your short story before Monday, June 30, 2025, midnight (Paris time, France).
• Applications must be submitted via the Short Édition platform linked on the official application website.
