📖 About Carnegie Mellon University Africa Bridge Program

Carnegie Mellon University offers a free, six-week intensive graduate study preparation program for undergraduates in their final year of study. This program is designed to provide a bridge to graduate study for promising and motivated students interested in pursuing a master's degree in the following areas:

Electrical Engineering
Computer Engineering
Information Technology
Telecommunications
Networking
Big Data
Artificial Intelligence
Software Engineering

Program Overview

The program will:

Give participants a feel for the graduate study experience.
Raise awareness of the specific academic skills required for successful graduate study.
Deliver training on embedded system project development, incorporating IoT connectivity and AI capabilities.

Cost: The program is free for all admitted students.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be a student in their final year or a recent graduate from one of the following institutions:
- Mount Kigali University Rwanda
- University of Kigali
- University of Rwanda
- African Leadership University
- Adventist University of Central Africa
- UNILAK
Must be studying one of the following fields:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Information Systems
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Format: The program will be conducted in-person at CMU-Africa.
Program Duration: September 29 - November 14, 2025.
Time Commitment: 10 hours per week:
- Monday-Thursday: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM CAT
- Friday: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM CAT
